IWACU (CH) Vernissage + Sir Jean and The Roots Doctors (F)
15.- presales, 18.- at the doors
Iwacu is a project that started in the canton of Fribourg in 2014, created by the Rwandan singer-songwriter Ras Ngabo, accompanied by a Rock-Reggae group. Iwacu is a mix between Jamaican and African Reggae, in a Reggae-Dub style. The texts are in English and Kinyarwanda, the national language of Rwanda. After having put a lot of energy into his recording, Iwacu has the great pleasure of opening his first album "Determination"!
If there are artists who are good at everything they touch, Sir Jean is clearly one of them. Far from being a stranger, he has already played with Meï Teï Shô or the People of the Grass in his 25-years career. Recently, the desire to work on his first solo project has become more and more pressing as he returns to his first love, Reggae. It is after the meeting with the former singer Maxxo (New World Design) that the adventure begins. They composed together what would become the skeleton of the 1st album ("Da Right Time" released in November 2018) and Maxxo abandoned singing to go on drums. They surround themselves with outstanding musicians, Nordine (Sinsemilia) on guitar, Mike (Broussaï) on keyboards, Yann (Electrophazz) on bass. A little jewel to discover absolutely!
